We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Bus Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on school buses to ensure safe and efficient operation. Candidates must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buses, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on each vehicle.
Collaborate with transportation staff to schedule and coordinate repairs with minimal disruption to bus operations.
Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Adhere to all safety standards and regulations related to vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical problems.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, typically up to [specify weight, e.g., 50 pounds].
Ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and in varying weather conditions.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling to access vehicles and perform repairs.
Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive repair is preferred.
Mechanic experience
Proven mechanical skills and knowledge of vehicle systems.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and maintain a clean driving record.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
