The Waldron School District carefully monitors weather conditions throughout the winter months. When snow, ice, or hazardous conditions may impact travel, the district follows a thorough process to determine whether school will open on time, delay, or close. Our highest priority is always the safety and security of our students and staff.
District officials evaluate road conditions across the area and review updated weather forecasts before making any decision. Because weather can vary across our large district, these decisions are not always easy, but student and staff safety remains the determining factor.
👉 When weather forecasts are questionable, we strongly encourage parents to have a plan in place in case school is canceled or delayed. Preparing ahead of time helps ensure a smooth morning for families should changes occur.
How We Will Notify Families of a School Closure or Delay
As soon as a decision is made, we will share the information immediately through the following communication methods:
-District social media updates (Facebook)
-District website: waldronschools.org
-Communicated with Channel 5 News and 40/29 News outlets
-Each campus will also communicate it through their social media as well as send out messages using Remind, Class Dojo, and Email
Stay tuned- decisions for the incoming storm will be made as soon as possible.
